TL;DR
Facilities Manager (Veterinary): Managing day-to-day facilities operations, maintenance, vendors, budgets, and capital needs across a multi-location network of veterinary practices with an accent on preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and facility assessments. Focus on coordinating HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire/life-safety work, resolving recurring issues, and prioritizing facilities needs across multiple locations.

Location: New York City; hybrid work with regular travel between practice locations

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

  • Manage day-to-day facilities operations across a multi-market portfolio of veterinary practices.
  • Triage facilities requests, escalations, emergency repairs, work orders, and preventative maintenance through a CMMS platform.
  • Coordinate third-party facilities partners, contractors, local vendors, landlords, and property managers.
  • Review proposals, scopes, pricing, invoices, and facilities spending against budget.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments, identify maintenance and capital needs, and coordinate smaller capital projects and equipment replacements.
  • Communicate issue status, timing, and resolution to practice teams while partnering with Development and Operations on larger facilities priorities.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of facilities management or related experience, preferably supporting a multi-site portfolio.
  • Experience with CMMS or work-order systems, vendor management, and preventative maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire/life-safety systems.
  • Experience managing facilities budgets, proposals, and small capital projects.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of needs independently.
  • Ability to travel regularly between practice locations.

Nice to have

  • Experience in veterinary, healthcare, retail, hospitality, or another multi-location environment.
