Electrical Engineer - ATE (Contractor)

Salary: $90,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design tester interface boards for IoT devices, power electronic systems, DC/DC converters, and inverters.
• Bring up and test systems to validate functionality, optimize performance, and evaluate critical characteristics.
• Create test and validation mechanisms for individual PCBAs and complete systems, including custom test cards and apparatus.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering on bed-of-nails fixtures.
• Work with mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware engineering to optimize products.
• Own the electrical system lifecycle from design and prototyping through validation and manufacturing, including component-level debugging.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of experience in power electronics design.
• Experience with battery management systems, inverters, and charging systems.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer schematic capture and PCB layout, plus experience with PCB fabrication and assembly houses.
• Strong laboratory skills using oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, sources, and loads for power conversion testing in high-voltage and high-current environments.
• Experience with prototyping, rework, conduction and hot-air soldering, paste and flux application, and cleaning.
• Knowledge of embedded control, microcontrollers, PLDs, analog circuit design, mixed-signal design, noise analysis, and grounding techniques.
