Engineering Manager, Agentic Apps (AI)

Location: Menlo Park, California office; in-person attendance is expected 5 days per week.

Base pay: $255,000–$300,000 USD annually in Zone 1, or $199,000–$234,000 USD annually in Zone 3, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and lead the team developing agentic applications for millions of customers and internal employees.
• Set technical direction for agent orchestration, tool integration, evaluations, and permissioning for consequential actions.
• Develop eval-gated releases, guardrails, approval flows, and audit trails for agents operating in a regulated brokerage environment.
• Own production reliability for nondeterministic systems using third-party model providers, including SLOs, fallbacks, and incident resolution.
• Define and report metrics such as task completion, quality, latency, and cost per task.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience managing software engineers, including hiring, developing people, and shipping products at scale.
• Hands-on experience with LLM systems and production tool-calling agents.
• Experience operating consumer-scale production services, including SLOs, on-call responsibilities, and external dependencies.
• Strong judgment in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and the ability to turn competing input into measurable roadmaps.
• Clear written and verbal communication with engineers, product partners, and executives.
• Ability to work onsite in Menlo Park 5 days per week.
