Mechanical Design Engineer Co Op (Snowplow)

Location: Iron Mountain, Michigan, United States

Salary: $22.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on completed college level

Company

Design and manufacture snow and ice management equipment, including plows, spreaders, and related products for professional and residential use.

What you will do

• Assist with the design, prototyping, and development of new products and improvements to existing products.
• Conduct product testing, collect data, and analyze results.
• Design tests and test fixtures as needed.
• Support problem-solving efforts in the Product Development Lab.
• Work with operations engineers to reduce costs and improve product quality.

Requirements

• Pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; Creo Parametric experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting and forming, painting, and assembly.
• Knowledge of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials.
• Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Creo, with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical skills.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
