Mechanical Engineering & System Packaging Co-Op (Spring 2027)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Full-time co-op for a six-month period; students must be US citizens and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Salary: $20.00–$45.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, and analyze mechanical engineering solutions.
• Create detailed component and system designs using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or PTC Creo.
• Conduct performance and finite element simulations using tools such as Ansys.
• Implement and test solutions, analyze collected data, and prepare technical documentation.
• Generate and present test reports containing plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions.
• Work with engineers, technicians, machine-shop operators, prototyping specialists, and other technical facilities to fabricate and assemble systems.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
• US citizenship is required.
• Availability to work full-time for six months.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with 3D CAD software, especially SolidWorks or Creo.
• Experience with fabrication and assembly of prototypes or proof-of-concept models.
• Knowledge of manufacturability, technical drawing creation, and tolerancing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
