Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Remote-field position based in the Midland/Odessa/Big Spring, Texas territory; candidates should reside within the listed service-area zip codes. Work is performed from home and in the field using a mobile office/vehicle, with in-person appointments and occasional travel to other territories.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess residential and commercial property damage.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Meet with policyholders, explain coverage, gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed reports.
• Evaluate policy terms and coverage, apply regulations, and make well-supported claim decisions.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits while providing professional customer service.
• Travel outside the assigned territory when needed to support other areas.

Requirements

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret policies, and make accurate decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools used to document claims in the field and remotely.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and crawl through tight spaces during inspections.
• Valid driver's license; successful completion of required training, licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and pre-employment assessments.
• Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field; knowledge of property insurance, construction, water mitigation, Xactimate, and XactContents.
