Field Service Technician I - MSP (Trace and X-Ray)

Location: St Paul, Minnesota, USA. Daily travel is required to customer locations in and around Minneapolis–St. Paul, including the airport. Service may be performed at airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, and other customer sites. Travel, overtime, and work outside Monday–Friday may be required.

Salary: $63,800–$87,560 per year, plus a business profit plan.

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Trace and X-Ray security screening equipment in the field.
• Respond to daily service needs, provide technical support and customer training, and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, open issues, and customer reports.
• Order, install, and return parts while managing the repair parts cycle.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment; assess equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Support site surveys, pilot programs, service meetings, service sales opportunities, and compliance with safety and export-control requirements.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, related electrical/electronic/mechanical trade certification, military training, or equivalent related field-service experience.
• 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems or equipment in the field.
• Computer literacy, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn specialized software.
• Strong communication, organization, customer-service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; willingness to travel at short notice.
• Must pass TSA vetting and a federal background investigation when required; a U.S. personal security clearance may also be required.
• Must be able to lift or carry up to 80 lb, push or pull up to 200 lb, and work safely around heavy equipment and demanding environments.
