Field Service Engineer (X-ray CT)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; frequent travel to customer sites, approximately 75% of the time.

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year, plus equity compensation.

What you will do

• Commission and calibrate X-ray CT scanners.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs at customer sites.
• Maintain and repair the in-house scanner fleet when not traveling.
• Troubleshoot, tune, and calibrate production systems with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Create and maintain training materials, service reports, and safety guidelines.
• Refine standard operating procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Experience working with computer, electrical, and mechanical systems, including sensors and actuators.
• Comfort using common hand tools such as drills and torque wrenches.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, follow written procedures, and recognize deviations.
• Strong verbal communication for remote technical support and strong written communication for service reports.
• Professional communication with customers and suppliers and effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and travel frequently to customer sites.
