Field Service Technician (Security Systems)

Location: Austin, Texas, with Monday–Friday overnight travel within a designated 150–250 mile service radius

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year, based on an hourly wage; windshield time is paid.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and system upgrades at customer sites.
• Assist with site planning, jurisdictional compliance, inspections, and system commissioning after construction.
• Organize daily service calls and routes to complete maintenance and repairs on schedule.
• Build customer relationships through service, training, and technical support.
• Support other Field Service Technicians and share technical knowledge.
• Maintain inventory, complete service reports, submit expense documentation, and drive safely to service locations.

Requirements

• Availability for weekly Monday–Friday travel and overnight stays is required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and installing systems.
• Strong ability to analyze and troubleshoot system issues, with basic math skills for measuring and configuring systems.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects, climb ladders up to 30 feet, and operate aerial lifts, concrete saws, jackhammers, augers, mixers, and similar equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with access control systems or fire alarms.
• OSHA certification or familiarity with OSHA compliance.
