Production Supervisor (Black Powder Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Minden, Louisiana, United States. The role involves working in an industrial manufacturing environment with machinery, explosives, physical demands, and minimal travel. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses and meet U.S. ITAR requirements.

Salary: $70,000–$85,000 base salary per year.

What you will do

• Lead daily production operations, organize labor, assign tasks, and deliver output against schedules and performance indicators.
• Enforce safe work practices, standard operating procedures, PPE requirements, and material-handling standards.
• Train and coach production employees on processes, equipment operation, and quality requirements.
• Monitor production in real time, troubleshoot issues, and escalate systemic concerns to the Plant Superintendent.
• Lead shift communications, performance reviews, employee development, and cross-training.
• Support 5S and kaizen initiatives, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to operate production equipment as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required state and federal explosives licenses, including background checks and drug screening.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorization.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, or powder handling.
• Experience with explosives or energetic materials.
• Associate's degree.
