DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Framingham, Massachusetts, United States. Production access is restricted to US Persons under ITAR.

What you will do

• Support releases of product-team artifacts into the controlled production environment, including pre-deployment checks, deployment execution, service validation, and rollback.
• Diagnose and resolve AWS production issues across compute, containers, networking, security groups, load balancers, DNS, certificates, IAM, storage, and managed databases.
• Monitor production health, maintain alerting, dashboards, and logs, respond to incidents, communicate status, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Maintain operating systems, base images, certificates, backups, restore procedures, capacity, and infrastructure costs.
• Apply infrastructure changes through Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, version control, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Document system configuration, deployment procedures, incident history, and sanitized evidence for external vendor support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or production operations, including 3 years supporting production workloads on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with EC2, ECS or EKS, VPC, ALB/NLB, Route 53, ACM, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• Experience with container images, artifact versioning, environment configuration, secrets injection, CI/CD handoffs, and rollback procedures.
• Solid Linux administration and knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, routing, firewalls, Bash, and Python or Go.
• Must be authorized as a US Person to access the ITAR-controlled production environment.

Nice to have

• AWS GovCloud experience or experience in isolated and regulated environments.
• Familiarity with ITAR, CUI, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA environments.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability tools.
