Lead Engineer, Chemical Process Engineering

Location: Based onsite at the Aurora, Illinois facility, United States

Salary: $114,000–$142,500 per year, plus annual bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Lead process improvement and capital projects from concept and equipment design through qualification, validation, and production ramp-up.
• Localize manufacturing processes, products, equipment, and automation solutions from other hirify.global sites.
• Lead automation projects through proposal, vendor engagement, capital execution, commissioning, and sustained operations.
• Design, qualify, troubleshoot, and support PLC and SCADA architectures with controls engineering.
• Apply Management of Change practices to evaluate, document, implement, and sustain process and equipment changes.
• Mentor manufacturing engineers and provide operational leadership when the Senior Manager is absent.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
• 5–10 years of hands-on process or manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in high-tech manufacturing or an industrial environment.
• Experience owning capital projects, including scope, budgets, vendors, installation, validation, and production handoff.
• Strong project management, risk mitigation, cross-functional coordination, and contractor or supplier management skills.
• Working knowledge of Management of Change practices in manufacturing.
• Experience or exposure to PLC, SCADA, HMI, or batch process control systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with GE Proficy iFIX, ISA S88, or advanced PLC programming.
• Advanced degree, PMP, Six Sigma, or formal leadership development experience.
