Project Engineer (Industrial Gases)

What you will do

• Design and engineer P&IDs and specifications for nitrogen pumping units and trailer-mounted vaporizer units for custom vendor builds.
• Produce and maintain accurate P&IDs for legacy equipment, including undocumented modifications and red-line updates.
• Upgrade HMI/PLC software with data logging and develop a fleet-wide telemetry roadmap for remote monitoring and predictive failure analysis.
• Establish equipment lifecycle standards, support predictive and preventive maintenance, and manage procurement controls for safety-critical equipment.
• Track asset utilization, maintenance trends, downtime, and service costs, presenting metrics to leadership and supporting future purchasing decisions.
• Support capital projects, equipment overhauls, lease-versus-buy analyses, business cases, new product development, and operator competency documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, preferably mechanical or chemical engineering.
• At least 2 years of industrial experience.
• Knowledge of industrial gases, related products, and customers is preferred.
• Previous nitrogen pumping business experience is highly desirable.
• Experience or ability to participate in PHA, HAZOP, PSSR, Management of Change, SOP development, regulatory training, and process safety activities.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Houston, Texas.
