Field Service Technician (Hardware)

Location: Detroit, MI; listed as remote, but the role requires field work Monday through Friday and travel across the region.

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year, plus overtime and stock options.

What you will do

• Install, align, service, and maintain camera systems, solar panels, batteries, mounting poles, and mobile trailers.
• Conduct site surveys with public safety partners and property owners, verifying traffic-control plans and permit compliance.
• Prepare sites through post-hole digging, mounting hardware installation, and camera alignment.
• Diagnose and repair field hardware, software connections, low-voltage wiring, and minor private infrastructure disruptions.
• Document installations, service records, inventory, site photos, and equipment shipments through mobile applications.
• Operate service vehicles, tow small trailers, and use ladders, bucket trucks, and lifts at heights of up to 30 feet.

Requirements

• Practical experience with low-voltage wiring, electrical assembly, construction, or technical field service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors independently in changing weather conditions.
• Ability to drive service vans and trucks and tow small equipment trailers safely.
• Comfort using mobile applications and basic digital tools for service records and inventory tracking.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work in the field and travel up to 25% across the region, with occasional Saturday travel or project completion.
