Location: San Francisco, United States; onsite at least three days per week

Salary: $95,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead coverage of Nvidia, Intel and other major semiconductor companies involved in the global data-centre build-out.
• Conduct in-depth reporting on opaque and technically complex companies, their innovations and corporate strategies.
• Build sources among executives and engineers and break significant news.
• Produce features explaining the hardware and global supply chains underpinning artificial intelligence.
• Investigate AI-bubble concerns and alleged circular financing between chipmakers and major customers.
• Collaborate on reporting, tips and joint bylines with technology, finance and political reporters across the US, Europe and Asia.

Requirements

• Experienced journalist with a track record of scoops and smart features.
• Ability to report on semiconductor companies, AI infrastructure and technically complex business topics.
• Strong source-building skills with executives and engineers.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to share tips and work on joint bylines.
• Editorial staff are expected to work onsite at least three days per week.
• Written application materials and test submissions must reflect the candidate’s own knowledge and work; AI use in the application process is monitored.
