TL;DR
Process Engineer, Catalyst (Chemical Engineering/Catalysts): Improving catalyst production performance, product quality, process efficiency, and safety through plant troubleshooting, experiments, and process modifications with an accent on continuous processes, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Focus on analyzing plant trial results, resolving operational and customer quality issues, and implementing documented improvements with production, maintenance, quality, and EHS teams.

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Full-time onsite role with regular plant experimentation and testing; travel up to 10%.

Salary: $113,409–$151,212 per year, including base salary and annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

  • Provide technical support for production lines and troubleshoot process and product-quality issues.
  • Monitor process performance and improve throughput, reliability, cost, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Plan and conduct plant experiments and process trials, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and EHS teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Support process modifications through Management of Change, risk assessments, and safety initiatives.
  • Investigate customer nonconformities, improve First Pass Quality, and maintain procedures, documentation, and training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • More than two years of relevant experience in production, process engineering, process improvement, or applicable research.
  • Knowledge of catalysts and their application in continuous processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills, with proficiency in computer tools for process data analysis.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Louisville and participate in plant experimentation and testing.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

  • Experience with energy supply or sustainability projects.
  • Background in oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, or university research.
