Operations Support Engineer (Chemical Engineering)

Location: Geismar, Louisiana, USA. Onsite position. Unrestricted right to work in the United States is required.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot chemical manufacturing process issues in assigned operating areas.
• Support unit turnarounds and commission process improvements.
• Evaluate equipment and processes to optimize performance and maintain safety and environmental compliance.
• Monitor reaction and purification steps, analyzing the interaction of temperature, pressure, residence time, and composition.
• Design replacement equipment, plan new equipment layouts, and develop monitoring and control system improvements using data trending and analysis.

Requirements

• Unrestricted right to work in the United States.
• B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of process engineering experience.
• Experience supporting Operations teams with process improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of chemical composition, properties, reactions, raw materials, production processes, quality control, and costs.
• Knowledge of chemical processing design principles, PFDs and P&IDs, geometry, calculus, probability, statistics, Aspen simulation software, advanced Excel, and regression analysis.
