AI Atlassian Engineer

What you will do

• Advise on agentic AI strategy and identify processes where AI agents can create meaningful value.
• Compare and recommend Rovo, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, coding agents, and other tools based on use case, cost, and security.
• Design, build, and test agents in Rovo Studio and develop custom solutions with Forge when needed.
• Integrate Rovo with AI tools and external systems through MCP, REST APIs, and connectors.
• Define efficiency and ROI metrics, track results, and establish governance, security, and responsible AI practices.
• Train technical and non-technical users and support organisation-wide adoption.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Atlassian Rovo, including agents, Studio, search, and chat.
• Experience administering Jira and Confluence.
• Hands-on knowledge of generative and agentic AI platforms, agent design, prompt engineering, RAG, and agent evaluation.
• Experience with REST APIs, MCP, and Forge or JavaScript/TypeScript development.
• Consulting skills covering process analysis, use-case discovery, and communication with business stakeholders and leadership.
• Knowledge of data governance, permission models, GDPR, and the EU AI regulatory framework.

• Atlassian certifications and specialised AI training.
• A production portfolio of agents or automations with measurable results.
• Experience with change management and technology adoption programmes.
