Compiler Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Gdansk, Poland; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary: PLN 124,520–360,720.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain compiler software components.
• Implement compiler features and resolve complex software defects.
• Analyze real-world applications and benchmarks to identify optimization opportunities.
• Improve the performance and efficiency of compiler-generated code for CPU architectures.
• Conduct functional, performance, and stress testing to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, validation, performance, hardware architecture, and software teams while contributing to LLVM and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of professional experience developing software in C/C++.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and data structures.
• Experience optimizing software for CPU performance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and proactively drive technical solutions.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with vectorization, OpenMP, parallel programming, LLVM-based compiler frameworks, assemblers, linkers, or low-level system software.
• Strong understanding of CPU architecture, compiler optimization, code generation, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with performance analysis and profiling tools such as perf.
