Customer Service Representative (Landscape & Irrigation)

Location: Horizon Bakersfield, CA - H058, 3545 Bowman Ct, Bakersfield, California 93308. Onsite, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Salary: $20.00–$24.00 per hour, with eligibility for performance bonuses of up to $2,500.

What you will do

• Greet walk-in and phone customers, understand their needs, and recommend suitable products, upsell options, and complementary items.
• Prepare sales orders and assist customers with selecting and loading merchandise.
• Follow up with prospective and existing customers to introduce opportunities and generate additional business.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Collaborate with sales center colleagues and use company resources to provide effective customer service.
• Maintain an organized, stocked sales center and assist with receiving, shipping, and general warehouse duties.

Requirements

• Strong customer-service attitude, self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear spoken and written communication, critical thinking, and ability to identify solutions to customer problems.
• Cooperative, dependable teamwork and good computer and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to learn changing systems, programs, handheld technology, and processes.
• Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds; possession or acquisition of forklift certification.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work onsite in Bakersfield, California.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• Irrigation experience or knowledge of other landscape products.
