Location: Maplewood, Minnesota, United States. Remote work is possible for candidates located more than 50 miles from Global Headquarters in St. Paul, MN; employees within commuting distance must work onsite at least 4 days per week. Travel may include up to 25% domestic and international travel. Relocation assistance may be authorized.
Expected compensation: $145,676–$178,049, including base pay and variable incentive pay where applicable.

What you will do
- Build technical relationships with satellite manufacturers, launch providers, spacecraft integrators, and government space organizations.
- Understand mission requirements and identify applications for structural, thermal, optical, EMI, bonding, and electronic materials.
- Lead technical engagement, product specification, qualification, testing, and adoption activities.
- Provide technical consultation, training, application support, design reviews, and product evaluations.
- Develop and manage growth opportunities within strategic Space Segment accounts while tracking technology and market trends.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Platforms, Manufacturing, and Corporate Research to address customer challenges and influence future product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
- At least five years of experience in application engineering, product development, new product commercialization, or translating customer needs into technical product performance criteria.
- Experience may come from private, public, government, or military environments.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship, including H-1B sponsorship.
- Ability to navigate complex problems, identify innovative solutions, and collaborate across technical and commercial functions.
Nice to have
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a science or engineering discipline.
- Ten years of relevant application engineering, product development, commercialization, or customer-needs translation experience.
- Experience as a Materials & Processes Engineer, Spacecraft Materials Engineer, Systems Engineer, Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role supporting flight hardware development.
- Knowledge of spacecraft materials selection, qualification, verification processes, and aerospace and defense specifications.
- Experience with space-focused companies or startups, the Space technology ecosystem, and project management.
