Advanced Space Systems Engineer (DSP)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship required. The supported government-contract client is located in Scottsdale, Arizona. No security clearance is required.

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Support digital signal processing algorithms implemented in hardware and software for space-based systems.
• Develop algorithms for statistical analysis of signal parameter measurements.
• Apply detection and estimation theory, random processes analysis, communications theory, and information theory.
• Develop and integrate hardware prototypes, FlatSats, hardware-in-the-loop systems, and related test environments.
• Support space payload design, development, integration, and testing.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or a related science, engineering, technology, or mathematics field with 5+ years of job-related experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with Python, SmallSats, CubeSats, hardware integration, hardware-in-the-loop systems, and testing.
• Background in electrical or systems engineering with a communications or digital signal processing focus.
• Experience with Agile hardware, software, or firmware development, DevOps, CI/CD, and digital or model-based systems engineering tools.
• Understanding of systems engineering concepts, requirements management, system modeling, and technical standards.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of MATLAB and DSP toolboxes.
• Experience with radar processing, RF effects mitigation, Monte Carlo analysis, phased arrays, or beamforming.
• Agile experience and familiarity with SysML, MagicDraw, or Cameo.
