Lead Engineer - Transmission Lines

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; on-site in the office

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead transmission line design for capital projects.
• Develop conductor selections, structure recommendations, insulation studies, grounding studies, static wire designs, and A/C interference assessments.
• Prepare line plans, profiles, cross-section details, estimates, probability models, and related engineering studies.
• Review and design transmission line plan and profile drawings in PLSCAD to meet client standards, NESC, and other applicable requirements.
• Drive transmission line routing and project strategy, including right-of-way decisions, structure design, and routing through congested stations.
• Use LiDAR, aerial photography, wetlands, vernal pool, and sensitive resource data in line and structure placement.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of transmission engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Leadership skills, reliability, punctuality, flexibility, and willingness to continue developing electrical industry knowledge.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
