hirify.global is developing Seagliders, wing-in-ground-effect electric vehicles designed to provide fast, affordable, and sustainable coastal transportation for passengers and cargo.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the flight controls and GNC organization across multiple Seaglider programs.
• Own guidance, navigation, state estimation, control laws, mode management, sensor integration, pilot inceptors, and input-selection logic.
• Review control models, analyses, and generated code, remaining hands-on when flight-test needs require it.
• Own the controls release process into flight test, participate on console, analyze flight data, and make tuning and release decisions.
• Guide the production control system toward certification by defining the design basis, evidence plan, and path from prototype control laws to a high-assurance production system.
• Establish common modeling, model-based verification, code-generation, and qualified-tooling practices across vehicle programs.

Requirements

• Leadership experience in flight controls, GNC, or an adjacent vehicle-controls discipline, including technical direction, team development, and hiring.
• Experience taking control laws from development through real-air-vehicle flight testing, including simulation, flight, analysis, and retuning.
• Strong hands-on controls and model-based development skills with MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience with flight-controls analysis, optimization, system identification, and flight-test decision-making; familiarity with CONDUIT and CIFER is valuable.
• Ability to work across simulation, autonomy, embedded software, aerodynamics, systems engineering, and test.
• Experience with safety-critical controls, certification, verification, autocode, embedded flight software, sensor fusion, altimetry, or multi-regime vehicle control is valuable.

Nice to have

• Experience with DO-178C, ARP4754A, DO-330, formal verification, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or novel vehicle and maritime certification.
• Experience with INS/GNSS fusion, height-over-surface estimation, VTOL or transition control, handling qualities, or scaling a controls function in a startup.
