Lead Platform Support Engineer (AI)

Location: Union, New Jersey, United States; hybrid work model

Salary: USD 180,000–190,000 annual base salary, plus potential discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Oversee day-to-day platform operations, performance, availability, reliability, and a global 24x7 support model.
• Lead and mentor platform support engineers and act as the escalation point for high-priority incidents and complex technical issues.
• Monitor and improve observability across metrics, logs, distributed traces, and service-level indicators.
• Operate Kubernetes workloads across containerized and virtual-machine environments, including networking, storage, secrets, autoscaling, upgrades, and patching.
• Maintain Azure DevOps Release Pipelines, GitHub Actions workflows, and Argo CD-based GitOps delivery across environments.
• Drive automation, root cause analysis, infrastructure-as-code reviews, production deployments, and responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in platform support, system administration, or a related field, including at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes, Docker/OCI containers, Helm or Kustomize, AKS or a comparable managed Kubernetes platform, and service networking.
• Practical experience with Argo CD or Flux, Terraform, SaltStack, PowerShell, Bash, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and release engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, Unix, networking, .NET application support, MS SQL Server, NATS/JetStream, and distributed-system troubleshooting.
• Experience with SOC 2 compliance, secure deployments, monitoring and observability tools, and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; willingness to work outside normal business hours, including weekends.
