Co-op, Bioassay & High Throughput Screening (Biotech)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Full-time, six-month student co-op from January through June 2027. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Base compensation: $23.00–$29.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Execute cell-based and biochemical assays supporting early drug discovery programs.
• Prepare reagents, assay plates, biological samples, and compounds for screening experiments.
• Operate laboratory instrumentation and contribute to high-throughput screening campaigns involving large compound collections.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using data analysis tools.
• Document procedures, results, and conclusions in an electronic laboratory notebook.
• Optimize assays, support automation workflows, troubleshoot experiments, and complete an independent project with a final presentation.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, community college, skills program, or apprenticeship and at least 18 years old before the start date.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
• Fundamental understanding of biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of solution preparation, pipetting, serial dilutions, molarity conversions, and experimental documentation.
• Ability to follow protocols accurately and generate high-quality, reproducible data; prior laboratory research experience through coursework, academic research, or internships is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cell culture and biochemical assays.
• Experience with GraphPad Prism, Spotfire, Python, R, or laboratory automation.
