Co-Op, Bioanalytics

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; 70% in-office under a 70/30 work model. The co-op runs from January 18 through June 25, 2027, and candidates must be available for the entire program.

Salary: $20.00–$60.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform nucleic acid extraction and quantification from biological matrices.
• Operate and troubleshoot Maxwell, TapeStation/Bioanalyzer, QS7, epMotion, liquid-handling, and other QC instrumentation.
• Execute mRNA and siRNA extraction, purification, and quality-assessment workflows.
• Explore and implement RT-qPCR method-development strategies to improve sensitivity, accuracy, and reproducibility.
• Draft and update SOPs, document experiments, and follow biosafety and data-governance practices.
• Analyze and summarize experimental results, prepare figures and tables, and present progress to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in molecular biology, genomics, bioengineering, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Coursework or hands-on experience in a wet-lab environment.
• Experience or familiarity with pipetting, a biosafety cabinet, qPCR, and QC instrumentation.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, record-keeping, written communication, and teamwork skills.
• Must already hold U.S. work authorization and maintain it without future sponsorship.
• Only U.S. persons may currently access export-controlled information without an export license.

Nice to have

• Understanding of PCR principles and nucleic acid quantification.
• Experience with Maxwell, TapeStation, or Bioanalyzer platforms.
• Experience preparing scientific data visualizations for expert and non-expert audiences.
• Interest in bioanalytical method development and learning new technologies.
• GPA of 3.2 or equivalent academic achievement.
