High Throughput Biology Research Scientist

Location: Boston, MA; on-site five days per week with ad hoc flexibility.

Base salary: $105,600–$158,400 per year, plus eligibility for annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and implement high-throughput human biology assays for discovery programs.
• Build integrated automation workflows for cellular and biochemical assays using robotics, high-throughput liquid handling, and computational solutions.
• Execute screening and follow-up studies, analyze complex datasets, and provide actionable recommendations to project teams.
• Troubleshoot assay and automation performance while improving throughput, data quality, and operational reliability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and develop scientific solutions from concept through prototyping and implementation.
• Collaborate across disciplines, communicate results clearly, and maintain rigorous, reproducible records.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant scientific discipline with 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience in molecular and cell biology, including multi-well plate assays, complex human cellular assays, immunoassays, qPCR, high-content imaging, and functional or target engagement assays.
• Proficiency in a relevant coding language such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Demonstrated creativity in biological assay development and the ability to independently advance projects.
• Experience working successfully in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Boston five days per week.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with laboratory automation, automated liquid handling, or integrated instrumentation.
• Experience developing or deploying AI-enabled scientific and computational workflows.
• Experience building and applying tools, prototypes, methods, or process improvements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
