Co-Op, Clinical Cytometry (Flow Cytometry)

Location: Norwood, Massachusetts, United States; in-person 70/30 work model. Co-op term: January 18, 2027–June 25, 2027, with availability required for the full duration.

Salary: $20.00–$60.00 per hour, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Perform ex vivo stimulation and high-parameter, 19-color or greater intracellular cytokine staining assays using live cell samples and aseptic technique.
• Screen PBMC donors for antigen responses and generate reference datasets to support assay development.
• Evaluate reagent and sample stability, assay limitations, sample processing effects, and alternative PBMC isolation approaches.
• Develop foundational expertise in spectral cytometry using the 5-laser Cytek Aurora and SpectroFlo software.
• Analyze flow cytometry data with FCS Express and present experimental results using Excel, GraphPad Prism, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet.
• Support experiment design, controls, laboratory execution, literature review, and scientific communication.

Requirements

• Must be available for the complete co-op term from January 18, 2027 through June 25, 2027.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in biomedical sciences, biology, immunology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, including pipetting and laboratory safety.
• Completed foundational coursework in cell biology, biochemistry, or biological laboratory techniques; immunology coursework is strongly preferred.
• Work is based in Norwood, Massachusetts, within an in-person 70/30 work model.
• Access to export-controlled technology or data may require eligibility under U.S. export control laws; U.S. persons can access such information without an export license.

Nice to have

• Experience with cell or tissue culture, flow cytometry, in vitro transfection, protein or antibody detection methods, or assay development and troubleshooting.
• Previous co-op or internship experience.
