Distribution Mechanic (District Energy)

Location: Onsite at the Baltimore power plant, 1400 Ridgely St, Baltimore, Maryland, United States

Salary: $35.18–$47.44 per hour, plus a 10% bonus target. The posting also lists an earlier range of $34.16–$46.09 per hour.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair equipment, piping systems, valves, steam traps, pumps, and other plant machinery.
• Install, replace, and troubleshoot piping systems and related mechanical equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond quickly to emergency situations.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain safe working conditions.
• Participate in craft training, including welding skills development.
• Work rotating weekend, back-shift, holiday, and on-call coverage, including overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
• Valid Maryland 4th or 5th Grade Stationary Engineers License.
• At least one year of pipefitting and welding experience, plus one year of rigging certification.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to pass a physical examination and drug test.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, climb to heights of up to 100 feet, and tolerate heat in an industrial production plant.
