TL;DR
Senior Staff DSP Engineer (Aerospace): Defining and advancing digital signal processing solutions for complex space electronics programs with an accent on RF communications, synchronization, FPGA/ASIC implementation, and high-speed ADC/DAC systems. Focus on developing and validating hardware-implemented algorithms, leading architecture and trade studies, resolving critical technical risks, and mentoring DSP engineers.
Location: Centennial, Colorado, USA; on-site role. US citizenship required.
Base salary: $180,000–$230,000 per year, depending on qualifications.

What you will do
- Define and advance DSP solutions, architectures, methodologies, and engineering practices across complex space programs.
- Develop, prototype, analyze, validate, and implement DSP algorithms in FPGA and/or ASIC hardware.
- Lead system architecture, requirements development, algorithm exploration, trade studies, design reviews, integration, laboratory verification, troubleshooting, and delivery.
- Assess technical risks and opportunities, recommend solutions, and influence critical program and technology decisions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DSP engineers and senior technical contributors.
- Communicate complex technical concepts, recommendations, risks, and tradeoffs to engineering teams, customers, program leadership, and senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline and at least 12 years of relevant engineering experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Expert knowledge of digital signal processing, including RF communications, synchronization, and high-speed ADC/DAC systems.
- Extensive experience with DSP architecture, algorithm development, hardware implementation, integration, and verification.
- Experience with MATLAB or similar tools, C/C++ bit-true modeling, hardware co-simulation, and FPGA/ASIC implementation using Verilog, VHDL, or comparable HDLs.
- Experience leading technical trade studies, design reviews, architecture decisions, technical risk resolution, and engineering mentorship.
- US citizenship required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Nice to have
- Experience in image processing, software-defined radio, channelization/reconstruction, array processing, radar, AI engines, advanced RF communications, or high-speed ADC/DAC architectures.
- Active TS security clearance.
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
