Senior Manager, Signal Processing (DSP)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. The position is based at hirify.global's global headquarters and is subject to U.S. space technology export regulations.

Base salary: $173,300–$259,850 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $223,025–$339,400 USD annually.

What you will do

• Define engineering processes, milestones, reviews, schedules, and traceable documentation for DSP algorithm development.
• Set the technical roadmap and design, develop, optimize, and verify DSP algorithms for filtering, modulation, demodulation, compression, noise reduction, and feature extraction.
• Architect digital payload products and lead development from initial concept through production and in-flight operations.
• Coordinate with hardware, FPGA, and software engineers to design, build, test, and deliver completed products.
• Lead test planning, ground-support equipment and production automation, product documentation, anomaly troubleshooting, and customer technical support.
• Build and manage a team of 3–4 DSP algorithm engineers while mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical programs and design reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification, plus 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with space electronics, high-speed serial interfaces including SPI, PCIe, and Ethernet, system-on-chip devices, microcontrollers, and DSP.
• Experience developing and delivering digital products from requirements assessment and engineering prototypes to space-qualified products.
• Detailed knowledge of DSP algorithms and communication theory, with understanding of transponders, SAR, or advanced communication systems.
• Demonstrated ownership of a technical program, product, or team from concept through delivery, including prototype-to-production hardware and software development.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance. U.S. export-control eligibility is also required for work in U.S. offices.

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience designing, integrating, and testing RF communication systems for launch vehicles or satellites.
• Experience leading complex engineering programs, incident investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Experience mentoring engineers and working under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
