Chief Finance Officer (Life Sciences Manufacturing)

Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom; based at a purpose-built campus approximately 10 miles south of Cambridge. Part-time work is expected to require 2–3 days per week.

What you will do

• Lead financial strategy supporting the industrialisation of cell therapy manufacturing.
• Partner with the CEO, executive team, and Board on strategic decisions, funding, and long-term value creation.
• Develop capital strategy across equity and debt, including investor reporting and scenario planning.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, financial runway analysis, and long-range planning.
• Build and lead the finance team, including processes, tools, controls, reporting, audit, and compliance.
• Develop commercial models, oversee the transition of accounting activities, and support investment, resourcing, and unit economics decisions.

Requirements

• Significant CFO experience, ideally in a scaling technology, life sciences, automation, or advanced manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience owning budgets, forecasts, long-term financial plans, and executive or Board-level financial reporting.
• Experience with investor relations, capital strategies, and equity and debt funding.
• Understanding of capital equipment, recurring consumables, and platform- or project-based commercial models.
• Ability to work strategically while maintaining detailed financial analysis and collaborating across technical, commercial, and operations teams.
• Professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or equivalent experience.
