People Operations Partner (AI)

What you will do

• Own monthly payroll across UK and employer-of-record employees, including changes, corrections, off-cycle and ex-gratia payments, contractor payroll, invoicing, and country-specific requirements.
• Deliver core People Operations across onboarding, employee changes, contracts, documentation, leave, mobility, EOR and contractor setup, and offboarding.
• Handle employee and manager queries through to resolution while maintaining accurate employee data and documentation.
• Build automations and lightweight AI-enabled workflows connecting Rippling, Notion, Linear, Slack, Ashby, n8n, and Google Workspace.
• Improve recurring processes through better tools, guidance, self-service, runbooks, dashboards, and lightweight analysis.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Talent, Performance, and functional specialists to deliver scalable People services.

Requirements

• Experience in People Operations, People Services, HR Operations, or another operational People role.
• End-to-end payroll experience, ideally across multiple countries or through an employer of record; familiarity with UK PAYE, RTI, pension auto-enrolment, and statutory payments is preferred.
• Strong technology skills, including practical use of AI and the ability to build no-code or low-code automations, integrations, and AI workflows.

• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments while balancing efficiency with empathy.
• Applicants must be able to work remotely from the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Experience across reward, benchmarking, pensions, benefits, performance, or engagement.
• Knowledge of UK and EU employment law, equity or share-option administration, EMI schemes, or cap-table tools such as Vestd.
• Experience with international employment, EORs, contractors, off-payroll arrangements, or IR35.
• Experience in a fast-scaling startup or scale-up.
