Facilities Senior Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; onsite data center role with 24x7 operational coverage.

What you will do

• Execute 24x7 data center operations, including maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and incident follow-up for mission-critical equipment.
• Support supervision, mentoring, development, performance management, and roster coordination for the Facilities Engineering team.
• Maintain electrical and mechanical infrastructure according to manufacturer recommendations, corporate standards, and industry best practices.
• Manage contractors, service providers, consultants, and project teams across maintenance, repairs, capital improvements, and facilities projects.
• Develop, implement, and audit MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, sequences of operation, and maintenance standards using BMS, CMMS, and DCIM tools.
• Conduct facilities rounds, inspections, safety checks, operational reporting, and compliance activities to support uptime and customer SLAs.

Requirements

• Technical trade license, certification, or equivalent training in electrical, mechanical, facilities, or a related discipline.
• More than 5 years of experience supporting 24x7 data center facility management and more than 3 years in a mission-critical environment.
• Experience supporting or supervising engineering teams of at least 5 members, including mentoring and operational coverage coordination.
• Operational knowledge of switchgear, transformers, ATS, UPS, STS, DRUPS, battery management systems, generators, PDUs, chillers, DX systems, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, cooling towers, VFDs, BMS, and fire protection systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, project coordination, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with CMMS, BMS, DCIM, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, plus knowledge of regulatory codes, permits, and OH&S requirements.
