Continuous Improvement Manager (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Zhuhai, China; onsite role

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational performance, quality, cost reduction, and unit reliability.
• Develop and implement plant-wide continuous improvement strategies, lean transformation plans, TPM programs, and Kaizen activities.
• Coordinate process improvement initiatives with plant, R&D, supply chain, business, and Battery Materials functional teams.
• Identify, standardize, and share manufacturing best practices across departments and global teams.
• Resolve production bottlenecks, customer problems, quality issues, and delivery abnormalities through coordinated cross-functional action.
• Manage a multi-workstream program supporting battery material sales from the Zhuhai site, including quality, maintenance, capital projects, logistics, technical, and business systems work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or university degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, oil and gas, or the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with LEAN tools and processes; LEAN certification is required or preferred as specified for the role.
• Knowledge of statistical process control, QA/QC techniques, continuous improvement planning, ISO practices, and change management.
• Experience developing project scopes, timelines, budgets, milestones, and measurable improvement goals.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without authority, and resolve complex operational and product quality issues.

Nice to have

• IATF certification.
• Knowledge of Cabot products, product properties, performance requirements, and specifications.
