Central Bank Governance Specialist (Payments)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; hybrid working model with time split between the office and home. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $137,400–$240,400 USD annual base pay.

What you will do

• Oversee adherence to payment scheme rulebooks and access requirements, including ACH, CHIPS, Fedwire, FedACH, and FedLine Solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on payment scheme rules and implement amended or new requirements into processes and procedures.
• Maintain evidence, procedures, and preventative and detective controls that demonstrate compliance and strengthen operational risk management.
• Review incidents to identify root causes and payment scheme impacts, then coordinate remediation.
• Build relationships with Control, Resiliency Office, Regulatory Oversight, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate payment scheme audits and regulatory examinations and prepare MI and ad hoc reports.

Requirements

• Experience in payment schemes, operations, or risk management, ideally within a bank, investment bank, or custody bank.
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, process assessment, control evaluation, and regulatory analysis skills.
• Knowledge of payment scheme obligations such as ACH, CHIPS, Federal Reserve services, CHAPS, RITS, T2, and SEPA.
• Strong Microsoft 365 fluency, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Excel-based MI.
• Demonstrated AI fluency and practical experience using Microsoft 365 Copilot or similar tools to build lightweight agents or automations.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
