Composite Technician A

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Onsite role at the Advanced Manufacturing Facility, working the 2nd shift on a 4/10 schedule: 10 hours per day, 4 days per week.

What you will do

• Fabricate, modify, assemble, rework, and test composite parts, components, rocket motor hardware, and final assemblies.
• Prepare components for lay-up, filament winding, curing, post-curing, compression molding, structural bonding, and vacuum bagging.
• Operate manufacturing equipment including ovens, autoclaves, lathes, milling centers, presses, furnaces, mixers, grinders, paint booths, and overhead cranes.
• Build complex layups, tooling, mandrels, insulation, and composite cases; cast, cure, and machine sand mandrels.
• Troubleshoot production processes, identify process escapes, support process improvements, and coordinate equipment setup and calibration with maintenance and engineering.
• Support technician training, preventative maintenance, machine cleaning, safety initiatives, and 5S+1 standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of prior manufacturing experience.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions, schematics, diagrams, layouts, and manufacturing test procedures.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Ability to meet pre-employment background-check and substance-abuse-testing requirements where permitted by law.
