Principal Software Engineer, Full-Stack Development (AI)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States, or Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $118,300–$168,300 CAD per year for the Ontario position

What you will do

• Build, improve, and maintain AI-powered developer tools across frontend interfaces, APIs, and backend services.
• Design scalable AI systems and cloud integrations, including LLM-powered features, agentic workflows, and MCP-based services.
• Architect, implement, and review code across the full stack of the AI tooling ecosystem.
• Identify systemic problems, technical debt, and opportunities to improve AI capabilities and developer productivity.
• Support production integrations for shared AI tools used by game studios and development teams.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and other stakeholders on technical plans and rollouts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of hands-on software development experience, including significant exposure to AI/ML systems or developer tooling.
• Strong full-stack programming experience with React and TypeScript on the frontend and Python, Go, and/or Node on the backend.
• Experience building LLM-powered applications, agentic workflows, AI developer tools, RESTful services, and event-driven services.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure, and scalable object-oriented and service-oriented systems.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MCP or similar tool-integration protocols.
• Experience with IDE extensions, CLI tooling, or browser-based developer tools.
• Knowledge of foundation models, the evolving AI/ML landscape, and responsible AI practices.
