What you will do

• Take ownership of core product areas and distributed systems, acting as the primary technical expert.
• Design and maintain scalable, high-availability REST APIs and backend services.
• Leverage agentic coding tools and autonomous workflows to accelerate development and output.
• Drive technical debt reduction and system decoupling to improve long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and go-to-market teams in an async-first environment.
• Stay at the forefront of AI tooling and help shape how AI is integrated into engineering workflows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building large-scale backend systems and APIs.
• Must be based in the US or Canada.
• Active, daily user of AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) with a clear understanding of their impact on workflow.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, React, and TypeScript.
• Strong command of relational and NoSQL databases, SQL, and database modeling.
• Experience building and observing applications on AWS, ideally with Datadog or similar tools.
