Company

hirify.global develops the P3 system, which captures solar energy, stores it as heat, and generates electricity on demand for AI infrastructure.

What you will do

  • Lead research into high-temperature thermal storage materials, optical concentrators, and heat engine components operating above 1000°C and under extreme thermal cycling.
  • Develop material compositions and processing methods for sensible heat batteries, including advanced ceramics, refractory metals, composites, optical materials, and coatings.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and optical engineers on materials selection for Fresnel lens systems and Stirling engine components.
  • Design and execute materials testing using XRD, SEM/TEM, DSC/TGA, mechanical testing, and thermal cycling.
  • Perform failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and predictive modeling for extreme thermal and mechanical loads.
  • Lead cost optimization, supplier and research partnerships, intellectual property development, technical documentation, and mentoring of junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least five years of deep research experience in materials engineering, high-temperature materials, thermal energy storage, or related systems.
  • Experience with high-temperature ceramics, refractory alloys, optical materials, thermal barrier coatings, and phase change materials.
  • Strong understanding of materials thermodynamics, kinetics, and processing methods such as powder metallurgy, additive manufacturing, thin-film deposition, and crystal growth.
  • Expertise in advanced characterization, statistical analysis, and computational materials science tools including DFT, molecular dynamics, and finite element modeling.
  • Proven research record with high-impact publications, patents, and successful transitions from laboratory research to commercial applications.

Culture & Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary and equity options.
  • Health, dental, and retirement benefits.
  • Inclusive environment focused on creativity and innovation.
  • Professional growth opportunities in a rapidly evolving renewable energy industry.
  • Relocation assistance for the required move to Miami.
