Workday Functional Solutions Architect (Workday)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; additional location: Austin, Texas, United States. Shift 1, United States of America.

Salary: $107.5K–$155.6K USD annually for the Bay Area, California; incentive opportunities may also apply.

What you will do

• Lead functional architecture for Workday HCM and translate business requirements into scalable solution designs.
• Design and configure business processes, security groups, calculated fields, and workflows across HR, Benefits, Talent, Compensation, and Security.
• Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and other stakeholders to recommend Workday-native solutions.
• Design and maintain security policies, role-based access, segregation-of-duties controls, and periodic access audits.
• Provide architectural guidance for mergers and acquisitions, organizational restructures, multi-country rollouts, and module implementations.
• Maintain configuration documentation, ensure data integrity and audit readiness, and mentor junior specialists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience, including 3+ years as a solutions architect, lead configurator, or senior functional consultant.
• Deep expertise in Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Absence Management, Talent and Performance, Recruiting, Security, and Reporting.
• Experience leading full-cycle Workday implementations, module rollouts, or major transformation projects.
• Knowledge of EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, Advanced Reporting, Calculated Fields, Dashboards, and BIRT.
• Strong stakeholder management, consulting, change management, and release testing skills; applicants must be eligible for required U.S. export authorizations.

• Workday Pro certification in Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Absence Management, Talent and Performance, Recruiting, or Security.
