TL;DR

Focus on troubleshooting complex robotic cells, advancing Industry 4.0 capabilities, and coordinating technical solutions across plants, engineering teams, suppliers, and system integrators.

Location: Redford, Michigan, United States; onsite at the work location

What you will do

  • Develop, integrate, standardize, and deploy industrial robotic systems for manufacturing operations.
  • Program, commission, integrate, and troubleshoot industrial robots and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Develop reusable robot standards, templates, libraries, and scalable automation architectures.
  • Advance digital manufacturing, data integration, simulation, and Industry 4.0 capabilities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, controls, production, suppliers, plants, and system integrators.
  • Manage multiple technical priorities and drive automation issues through resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, computer engineering, automation engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with industrial robotic systems in a manufacturing environment, including programming, integration, commissioning, or troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing automation, controls systems, robotics, and PLC/CNC systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols, with the ability to interpret electrical, controls, mechanical, and automation documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at the Redford, Michigan work location.

Nice to have

  • Advanced experience with FANUC, ABB, Universal Robots, or collaborative robotics.
  • Robotics system certifications and experience with robot simulation or offline programming tools.
  • Experience with robotic vision, guidance systems, functional safety, and robotic cell safety.
  • Knowledge of IIoT, edge computing, machine vision, digital twins, virtual commissioning, AI/ML, and industrial data platforms.
  • Experience with standardized robot programs, manufacturing execution systems, APIs, scripting, or cloud-connected manufacturing platforms.
