Automation & Controls Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design and deliver production-ready casting systems for solid rocket motor propellant.
• Design and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems for mixers, casting stations, robotic winding cells, cure ovens, and automated handling systems.
• Develop motion control, servo, robotics, machine vision, sensor, and real-time monitoring architectures.
• Implement safety instrumented systems, functional safety, and hazardous-area controls for energetic-materials manufacturing.
• Lead vendor management, equipment commissioning, FAT, SAT, debugging, and production qualification.
• Build data historian, MES, analytics, and Industry 4.0 capabilities for traceability, yield optimization, predictive maintenance, and future AI-driven monitoring.

Requirements

• Experience designing and programming industrial automation and control systems.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, motion control, servo systems, robotics, machine vision, and process instrumentation.
• Ability to translate manufacturing requirements into robust, maintainable automation solutions.
• Experience with commissioning, factory and site acceptance testing, debugging, root-cause troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to access applicable U.S. export-controlled information without additional export licensing is required.
