Plant Manager (Manufacturing): Leading safe, compliant, and efficient end-to-end manufacturing operations at a high-tech medical device facility with an accent on production performance, quality assurance, cost control, and workforce development. Focus on implementing Lean continuous improvement, managing plant KPIs and budgets, resolving manufacturing bottlenecks, and aligning operations with customer and compliance objectives.

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; onsite role at the Mississauga manufacturing facility.

What you will do

  • Lead daily production, supply chain, quality, and mechanical engineering operations.
  • Own production performance metrics including output, OEE, schedule adherence, and first-pass yield.
  • Maintain a safety-first, compliant operating environment and lead hazard assessments, corrective actions, and incident investigations.
  • Manage plant financial performance, including labor, materials, scrap, maintenance, utilities, budgets, and cost-per-unit targets.
  • Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, value stream mapping, SMED, Kaizen, visual management, and standard work.
  • Develop operations supervisors, resolve manufacturing bottlenecks, improve lead times, and support customer delivery commitments.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience managing a high-tech manufacturing facility.
  • 5–10 years of experience across customer service, service repair, global procurement, quality, warehousing, manufacturing engineering, or document control.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Engineering and/or Operations Management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, MRP or equivalent material requirements planning software, and Lean Manufacturing or Theory of Constraints.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, program implementation, performance measurement, budgeting, information systems, applicable legislation, and health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize changing demands, communicate across organizational levels, manage conflicts, and negotiate with suppliers.

Nice to have

  • Experience in an ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485 certified, and/or FDA QSR-compliant environment.
