Plant Supervisor (Metal Fabrication)

Location: St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada; onsite plant role

Salary: CAD 65,000–75,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and guide plant employees to achieve production, distribution, quality, safety, deadline, and budget objectives.
• Coordinate, assign, prioritize, and review work while teaching employees how to perform operational activities.
• Conduct performance reviews, address poor performance or behavior, and apply disciplinary procedures when required.
• Ensure employees receive instruction on safety procedures, equipment use, performance standards, and company policies.
• Monitor working conditions, report accidents and incidents, and take corrective action to protect personnel.
• Resolve personnel and quality issues using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Why, and Kaizen.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, basic mathematics, reading, and computer skills.
• Effective communication in English and French is essential.
• Metal fabrication experience is required, including brake press or sheet metal, punch press, laser, waterjet, oxy cutting, HVAC, or coil slitting.
• OHSA training and First Aid and CPR certification.
• Warehouse experience with forklifts, packing, and measuring.
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills; five years of supervisory experience leading a team of approximately 20 employees is preferred.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical degree.
• Knowledge of metal staging, processing, packaging, and shipping.
• Exposure to labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, lean practices, and sales functions.
