Principal Experience Architect (Product Design)

Location: San Mateo, California, or remote within the Continental US, Hawaii, and Canada only

Salary: $181,654–$204,361 USD annually in the United States; $245,471–$276,155 CAD annually in Canada

hirify.global is a nonprofit education technology organization providing free supplemental learning content and practice for Pre-K–12 and early college students.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the end-to-end product interaction model and information architecture across hirify.global products.
• Design cross-product journeys for students, teachers, parents, and district administrators, identifying broken handoffs and conflicting mental models.
• Create experience maps, service blueprints, architecture diagrams, and reusable design patterns.
• Advise design, product, and engineering leadership on scalable architectural decisions and long-term product coherence.
• Develop lightweight governance, alignment, and review frameworks while coaching embedded product designers.
• Prototype, wireframe, or redesign foundational flows such as navigation, onboarding, account management, and role management, using AI tools such as Claude Cowork where appropriate.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in product design, UX architecture, or UX strategy.
• Deep expertise in information architecture, ecosystem design, multi-platform interaction modeling, and systems-level design.
• Strong visual, interaction, and structural design skills, with the ability to move between strategic architecture and detailed execution.
• Experience influencing designers, product managers, and engineers without formal authority.
• Experience designing for multiple user types, roles, and permission structures in enterprise, B2B2C, marketplace, or platform products.
• Portfolio submission is required; applications without a portfolio link or attachment will not be considered.

• Experience with K–12 education, school districts, or other regulated or high-stakes environments.
