Location: Delnor Hospital, 300 Randall Rd., Geneva, Illinois, United States. Full-time onsite role, Monday through Friday, 4:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; no weekends or holidays.
Salary: $28.34–$39.68 per hour

What you will do
- Perform routine histology procedures, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and coverslipping.
- Operate tissue processors, microtomes, automated staining equipment, and other laboratory instruments.
- Prepare biopsy, surgical, autopsy, and frozen tissue sections for microscopic review by pathologists.
- Recognize, investigate, document, and resolve specimen, staining, equipment, and workflow issues.
- Maintain accurate specimen identification, reconciliation logs, laboratory information system records, and quality documentation.
- Support gross examination, quality system activities, safety procedures, process improvement, and staff or student training as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree with the required biology and chemistry coursework, or 60 semester hours of academic credit with qualifying biology or chemistry coursework under CLIA guidelines.
- Must qualify to take the national ASCP certifying examination.
- Must obtain Histotechnician (HT) ASCP certification within one year of hire.
- Must meet federal CLIA and accreditation requirements for high-complexity testing.
- Must be able to work onsite in Geneva, Illinois, Monday through Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
