UX/UI Designer

Location: 100% remote within the United States or onsite in Tysons Corner, Virginia

What you will do

• Design and conduct user research using design thinking methods.
• Translate research findings, user needs, feedback, and business requirements into actionable tasks.
• Create user interfaces from low-fidelity wireframes through high-fidelity interactive prototypes.
• Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, engineers, product owners, business analysts, and product managers.
• Organize design files for developer handoff using Zeplin and support design system and style guide development.
• Maintain interface patterns and ensure implementations follow web standards, accessibility, and usability best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, design, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, plus 2–4 years of related experience.
• Online portfolio demonstrating user research and UX/UI design skills.
• Experience with Sketch, InVision, Adobe Design Suite, or comparable design software.
• Knowledge of user research, usability principles, responsive web design, design systems, and style guides.
• Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, Section 508, and WCAG compliance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and pass a federal background check.

• Experience with public-sector technology modernization.
