TL;DR
UX Designer (Medical Devices): Designing and delivering mobile experiences for Omnipod’s Android and iOS application suite with an accent on user-centered design, clinical safety, and FDA-aligned medical device experiences. Focus on creating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems, collaborating with research and human factors teams, and integrating UX requirements with technical partners and APIs.
Location: Hybrid, with on-site work required at an office in Acton, Massachusetts or San Diego, California. Ongoing U.S. travel is required at least once per quarter.
Annual base salary: $122,600–$161,075, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do
- Design and deliver strategic and tactical UX initiatives for Omnipod Android and iOS mobile applications.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, visual assets, GUI specifications, and other UX deliverables using industry-standard design tools.
- Collaborate with product, software development, systems, marketing, clinical, human factors, and user research teams in an agile environment.
- Define UX requirements and integration experiences with partners such as Glooko and Tidepool, including API and branding considerations.
- Present concepts and user experience vision through sketches, storyboards, prototypes, wireframes, and interactive presentations.
- Develop UX standards, design language, processes, and holistic experiences across mobile, web, product, wearable, and other customer touchpoints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in psychology, computer science, HCI, industrial engineering, interaction design, design, human factors, or an equivalent field.
- 1–3 years of relevant UX and product design experience, including mobile applications and customer-centric products.
- Advanced knowledge of UX and development tools such as Creative Cloud, Sketch, Zeplin, InVision, Balsamiq, Azure, Framer, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of usability standards, design heuristics, responsive design, and Android and iOS UI guidelines.
- Experience with user research, usability testing, prototyping, agile development, and collaboration tools including JIRA, Confluence, Helix, and Aha!
- Strong portfolio, storytelling, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills; experience with medical devices or consumer wearables is valuable.
